We have daily departures every morning and evening throughout the winter season. The daytime adventures offer wonderful views while the evening tours offer excellent opportunities to experience the majestic Northern Lights. If you want to experience both, we offer Full-Day packages with a variety of combinations.
Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, we dress in warm winter gear and begin the adventure with thorough safety instructions and a practical demonstration. It is then time to follow our 11 km snowmobile ice fishing track that leads you between the snow-covered mountains up to a frozen lake. Lake Finn marks the halfway point of our snowmobiling adventure and is a good place to take photos, play in the snow, drive faster and, if weather conditions permit, try some ice fishing. You will drive in pairs with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile and plenty of opportunities to switch places during the two-hour snowmobiling adventure.
After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, we will serve you a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, it is time to head back to Tromso and tick another adventure off your bucket list.

Camp Tamok exclusively built as wilderness camp for outdoor activities. We have found a fair balance for authentic but still comfortable holidays. Our camp is composed of traditional and rustic Northern Norwegian buildings consisting of several lavvus, timber cabins heated by wood stoves and oil lamps complementing with modern kitchen, showers and toilet facilities.
We have found the perfect location with the wilderness at our doorstep. Our Husky Kennel and Reindeer Enclosure is the mark to step into the uninhabited winter wonderland.
We recommend dressing according to the season and in layers, so you can adjust your clothing to the weather conditions, at the camp we will borrow you our winter suits, hat, mittens and boots.
