Snowmobile Hunting The Northern Lights - Departure 21:00
Learn how to drive a snowmobile with the chance of catching the magical Aurora sky dancing above
The diverse arctic landscape makes a surreal experience, and a snowmobile is the perfect means to the reach deep into the wild of the northern frontier. Frozen fjords, a trademark of northern Norway, sparse tundra, that reaches for miles and miles, the pine forest and frozen lakes of the Pasvik valley will all be your highway.
For this tour you will be picked up from the Kirkenes city center (your chosen hotel: Scandic or Thon) at 21:00. After a short ride (15-20 min), you will reach Snowhotel Kirkenes, where preparations for the tour will take place. Before turning on the engine, the professional guides will give you a short briefing on how to operate the snowmobiles and provide you with necessary safety equipment and clothing to keep you warm and comfortable during your adventure. Guided by an expert driver, you will head into the remote hills surrounding Kirkenes, where darkness improves our chances of catching the Aurora Borealis. Two people will be sharing a snowmobile each, one as a driver and the other as a passenger with the opportunity of switching places along the way.
After the tour you will be driven back to your hotel to reminisce about your evening adventure.
Note! In order to drive the snowmobile, you need to be minimum 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license. Children below the age of 10 years old are not permitted.
