Full Steam Experience
Full Steam Experience is a journey through the fishing history in Norway with good stories and tastes of Skrei. The name probably originates in the Norse word skrid, which means to wander.
Here we taste some of the products of Skrei - real caviar, snacks of cod skin, cod tongue, cheeks, real cod liver oil and last but not least our soon world famous Tromstoddy which consists of 60% liquor mixed with cod liver oil and water. Tromstoddyen is a tribute to The Cod that has meant everything to Norway and not least to Peter Møller who we like to call the Father of Cod liver oil.
The entire Full Steam show takes place in the entirely untouched Bangsund pier which was built in 1902. Here we convey the vital story of the fisheries in the old days in the Troms region and Lofoten. You will see, hear, touch and taste the history. We guide you through the important story of Skreifisket in Troms county, from boat to export, the tale of stockfish and the Cod live oil's incredibly important significance for the nation of Norway.
