Via Ferrata, The Romsdalen Gondola and Grand Hotel

This overnight package is a great first-time outdoor climbing experience. The Romsdalsstigen Intro wall route gives you an introduction to Via Ferrata climbing, where you move out of the comfort zone into a stimulating and memorable experience. Afterwards, reward yourself with a stop at the mountain restaurant and a spectacular gondola trip back down to the town of Åndalsnes.

Arriving in Åndalsnes, check in at Grand Hotel by Classic Norway. Enjoy your evening in the hotel restaurant, bar and sauna and gather your strength for the day to come.


Climbing day! Eat a good breakfast at the hotel buffet in the morning, and pack some lunch with you. The climbing experience starts the next day at The Norwegian Center of Mountaineering at 10am where you will be met by your guide. He/she will equip you with climbing gear and take you to the starting point of the climb. The route is classified with a difficulty degree B in the international Via Ferrata scale. The climb takes 3-4 hours return and does not require any previous climbing experience. You will be guided by professionals and secured to the mountain by cable throughout. 
Well completed, you can rest your legs in the mountain restaurant and enjoy some refreshments. When you are ready, head over to the gondola cabin and enjoy the view while travelling down to the center of Åndalsnes in just 5 minutes
