Day 1 - Arrival
Arrive Åndalsnes - the Capital of Mountaineering - on the Rauma Railway; awarded as Europe's most scenic railway by Lonely Planet. Check in at Grand Hotel by Classic Norway, your home for the next few days. Enjoy a snack in the bar - and get ready for the next days' adventures.
Day 2 - Introduction to indoor rock climbing and get your certification
Join the passionate climbing instructors at the Norwegian Mountaineering Center for an indoor top rope climbing course – a perfect first time climbing experience for any newcommers. You will learn the basics of climbing during this three-hour climbing course, complete the exam and earn the indoor top rope certification. Between the course and exam you will be served a lunch at the Tindestua restaurant. After the course you may explore the town of Åndalsnes – with its major attractions such at the Troll Wall, Trollstigen, Rampesteken, the Romsdalen Gondola (due to open in 2021). Grand Hotel will serve you a well-deserved 3-course dinner in the evening.
Day 3 - Climb on your own in the Norwegian Mountaineering Center
With your new qualification you may scale the highest indoor climbing wall in Norway by autobelay. When you need a break – explore the history of climbing at the interactive museum exhibition right outside the climbing hall.
The top-rope certification is valid in all climbing halls in Norway.
