Day 1 Evening - 18:15 Arrival at Camp Tamok.

Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, we dress in warm winter clothes and boots and then head off to explore the ancient part of Sami culture and try the oldest form of transport in the north. As our reindeer herd is some distance from our barking huskies, your adventure will start with a short transfer by minibus to our Sami Camp. This fascinating cultural adventure includes reindeer sledding, introduction in lasso throwing, storytelling about the Sami culture and feeding the reindeer.

After this memorable encounter with the indigenous Sami people, you will return to Camp Tamok where we will serve you a hot meal around an open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, you will be shown the way to your accommodation.

Day 1 Night - Overnight at Camp Tamok in your chosen accommodation.

Day 2 Morning - 08:30 Breakfast & Dog Sledding.

In the morning you will be served breakfast and after dressing up meet your guide for Dog Sledding Tour. Our guide will go through safety instructions and a practical demonstration. Two people share each sled and dog team. One is the “musher” (driver), and the other can sit back and enjoy the ride. You can switch places midway during the 12 km dog sledding trail. Depending on snow conditions, we will spend approx—1 hr 30 min to complete the trail.

You do not need any previous skills to mush a husky team. All you need is reasonable physical health and an eagerness to try something new.

After the dog sledding adventure, we will serve you a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, you can board the bus back to the city and reflect on a memorable adventure.
